Ah, the easy and not at all frustrating sport of golf… Okay maybe it’s not always easy and can lead to some pretty frustrating moments, but there are plenty of benefits to playing golf. One of them is that many courses throughout Metro Detroit host outings and fundraising events that not only allow you to play 18 but support great causes too. So, get a few final rounds of golf in this year by checking out these local golf outings.
Detroit City Football Club Golf Outing
Detroit City FC will host its annual golf outing presented by your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers on Friday, September 11 at Chandler Park Golf Course. DCFC supporters, staff and, for the first time ever, players will be on-hand for the event, benefiting the Detroit City FC/Detroit PAL Youth City Select Program. Our Lady of the Lakes Alumni will be hosting their second annual Harry Miller Classic Golf Outing on Sunday, September 20. All money raised at the event will go towards the OLL Tuition Angel Fund, which is a scholarship to assist students attendingOur Lady of the Lakes Catholic School. Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased here. Celebrating K-9 Stray Rescue’s 30th anniversary, the organization will host their annual golf outing on Sunday, September 20. The charity outing will be held at Boulder Pointe Golf Club and will cost $150 per person. All proceeds will be used to help strays find a better future with loving families. The nonprofit aims to improve access to communication for those with complex communication needs by increasing training for speech pathologists, teachers and support staff in schools. Veterans4USA will host their charity golf outing on Monday, September 21 starting at 8:30 a.m. The nonprofit based in Mount Pleasant aims to help homeless veterans in need of winter and business clothing, toiletries and other necessities.
